Winter weather warning issued in parts of Idaho

All across Idaho, winter weather warnings are coming in.

Interstate 84 is currently closed from Milepost 221 to Milepost 269, and Interstate 86 junction to the Juniper rest area.

Visibility is very low, so Idaho State Police asks people to delay travel.

The Twin Falls Sheriff's office issued a dangerous road condition alert.

"We are asking motorists to stay off US Highway 93 between Twin Falls and Jackpot. There is zero visibility in places. There are cars parking in the road because they can't see, which can cause secondary crashes," the office said in a Facebook post.

The Idaho State Police says it's investigating several slide-offs and crashed on US Highway 93, south of Twin Falls.

Road closures are also affecting Interstate 15 and several other state highways in Eastern Idaho.

The National Weather Service also issued an Emergency Alert to people in the Idaho Falls and Pocatello area.

"Snow Squall Warning until 1:30 p.m MST. Slow down or delay travel! Be ready for a sudden drop to near-zero visibility and icy roads in heavy snow," the alert said.

A winter weather advisory was also put in place at Eastport, Sandpoint, Bonners Ferry, Athol, Schweitzer Mountain Road, and Priest River until Monday morning at 4 a.m.

Up to 2 inches of snow is expected in these areas.
