Brock Lesnar, the former UFC heavyweight champion and current WWE Champion, proclaimed his “miracle” recovery from a career-threatening intestinal condition in 2010 while criticising the health care he underwent in Canada after becoming ill while on a hunting vacation.
During a press conference declaring his comeback to the UFC octagon, the former UFC star made some remarks. Lesnar stated that his American physicians were “astonished” by his ability to overcome diverticulosis and prevent significant surgery to excise a section of his gut. “They were unable to detect any evidence of a problem in my stomach. It’s nothing short of a miracle, “In his first interview since becoming ill, the mixed martial arts star remarked on ESPN’s SportsCenter on Wednesday.
What was the health issue with Brock Lesnar?
Cromer, a town in western Manitoba bordering the Saskatchewan border, is home to the 265-pound fighter’s brother and sister-in-law. Lesnar’s cousin Chad raced him to the hospital, but he alleged that the medical equipment desired to evaluate his status was broken.
“They were impotent to help me. It felt like I was in a Third World country. He stated “I only had to look at my wife for her to save my life. I needed to get out of there as soon as possible.”
Which hospital was the Beast referring to?
Lesnar declined to name the hospital, but Jennifer, his sister-in-law, informed CBC News it was the Brandon Hospital, which is around 120 kilometres from Cromer. Carmel Olson, CEO of the Brandon Regional Health Authority, said Lesnar was receiving medication at the hospital. She stated that Lesnar’s comments have angered her and that he was adequately evaluated and medicated by a qualified doctor.
What political reasons were sited for these comments of Brock?
During the conference call, Lesnar admitted that he is exposing his storey for political purposes. “The only reason I’m mentioning this to the United States of America is that President Obama is pushing for health-care reform, which I plainly oppose. I’m a Republican conservative… I’m speaking on behalf of Americans “he stated.
“I’m speaking on behalf of our American doctors, who don’t want this to happen, and I don’t want it to happen either.” Lesnar eventually backtracked on the conference call, saying that as an American, all he wanted was to be treated as he was at home. “I’m not bashing the Canadian health care, I’m not bashing it at all. I’m a U.S. citizen. It just so happens I was in Canada. If I would have been in Thailand or Puerto Rico, I would want to get back to the United States, in my homeland, to get my health care.”
