Paddy Pimblett has been in the headlines for quite some time now after pictures of his off-season weight surfaced on the internet. Daniel Cormier talks to the English prospect and discusses his weight gain.
Paddy Pimblett is currently booked to fight Jordan Leavitt at UFC London, this weekend. The Liverpool fighter has taken over the UFC by storm and is already a fan favorite. The fighter’s personality has truly won fans all around the world. Paddy looks in terrific shape just days out of his fight day. This has completely shocked the fans after looking at Pimblett’s weight a few months ago.
Paddy ahead of his fight against Jordan Leavitt went on the DC&RC show that is hosted by Daniel Cormier and Ryan Clark. In the interview, DC asked Paddy how he felt about people commenting on his weight gain during his off-season and the fighter had an amazing answer to that. However, DC was truly shocked to know that Paddy weighed as much as a light heavyweight fighter just months away from his fight date.
“I don’t want to be ripped” Paddy Pimblett explains why he doesn’t care about his shape
“I just enjoy life, lad. I don’t wanna be ripped all the time. I’m not one of those people who are like, ‘Look at my body. Look at my shape.’ I don’t care what my body looks like I can still fight. At the end of the day, whether I am a fat bastard, or I am in shape, I can fight, I can still knock people out and submit people,” said Paddy The Baddy in his interview with DC&RC.
Paddy then referred to a picture of him that was trending on the internet when he was in San Diego. “Even that picture there, I am about 88 or 90 kilo there. I still have abs but I have a chubby face. People can call me what they want but if it was a woman, they’d be called fat shamers.” Pimblett then revealed that he was the heaviest since his last fight when he was in San Diego.
The Liverpool fighter said he weighed around 205 pounds which is the championship weight for light heavyweight fighters in the UFC. Paddy now weighs 155 pounds ahead of his lightweight fight at UFC London. That is an insane weight cut and Daniel Cormier was naturally shocked to hear that.
