Does Megumi Ever Find Out About Toji In Jujutsu Kaisen Manga?

The recent episode of Jujutsu Kaisen has finally reunited Megumi with his father, Toji Fushiguro, who was long revealed to be a sorcerer killer and a badass antagonist who delivered every time he was on screen.

In fact, their reunion was something memorable, with Toji dying for the sake of his son’s future. In the wake of this sudden development in the plot, many had one singular thought: Does Megumi ever find out about Toji?

Unfortunately, Megumi never found out that Toji Fushiguro was his father, even after his battle in the Shibuya Incident arc or at some point in the manga thus far. The reason being that he never cared about his father but was concerned about his one and only family, his sister, Tsumiki. 

Does Megumi Find Out About Toji Being His Father in Jujutsu Kaisen Manga?

Jujutsu Kaisen anime has so far kept Megumi’s past in the dark, only revealing that his drive to exorcise the curses was to protect his sister, Tsumiki Fushiguro.

However, in the fifteenth episode of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2, they finally reveal that he is the son of Toji Fushiguro, the sorcerer killer who previously fought Gojo and almost defeated him.

While the battle between Megumi and Toji seemed completely one-sided, with the former even losing hope to win, Toji, currently in the body of Ogami’s grandson, remembered his past when he abandoned Megumi.

He was proud of what his son had become since he took the last name Fushiguro rather than serving the Zenin clan as he was supposed to. Knowing that he may kill Megumi if his consciousness is gone, he stabs himself with the Playful Cloud in the head. 

This leads to many questions from the viewers, the most frequent being, will Megumi ever find out about his father and his sacrifice? Not really. Megumi never really cared about who his father was.

His battle with Toji should have awakened a hint of curiosity as to who Toji was, but he never bothered to check into his past and instead treated him as a strange yet respectable opponent.

Thus far in the manga, Megumi didn’t find out that Toji sacrificed because he was his father, and he probably never will because Gege Akutami has made it clear that he doesn’t care about the father who abandoned him.

Even when Gojo Satoru brings up the past concerning Megumi’s parents, he doesn’t want to talk about it and solely intends to protect his sister, Tsumiki.

Toji also had a strong reason for leaving Megumi behind, but he made sure to leave him in safe hands before dying, although he wasn’t sure Gojo would look after him.

Having abandoned Megumi at a very young age, Toji was never around when the young sorcerer grew up, so obviously, he wouldn’t really be interested in reuniting with his dad, whom he slightly resents despite not showing it to others.

That being said, it is not entirely apparent that Megumi may not learn about his father in the future, as Gege Akutami loves introducing plot twists at unexpected times.
