Boise State president celebrates faculty as university marks significant growth

Less than a week before the Boise State Campus is filled with students, the school's president Dr. Marlene Tromp, thanked faculty at the State of the University Address.

The address celebrated the overall growth of the university. Dr. Tromp said, "It is an extraordinary place because of equal things, not just for our students, but for the state, for the people across the world who are benefiting from the outcomes that we produce."

The record developments in research, philanthropic giving, and total graduates are what Dr. Tromp says have helped make the university a shining star.

She said, "Look at the outcomes that we're producing... the foundation, that recognizes Research Excellence has acknowledged our excellence in public purpose and our excellence in community engagement."

BSU has been recognized for other achievements, including Boise State student-athletes achieving a 3.42 cumulative GPA, a 39 percent increase in 4-year graduation rates, and an overall 94 percent graduation rate.

Dr. Tromp also honored teachers throughout her presentation,acknowledging their impact on the school through advancements in AI, connecting with students across the world, and recruiting new students to increase the size of programs.

Tromp said, "When you think about all the accomplishments that I have just discussed in these five years, you have changed this university."
